White Label

White Label is a Chicago-based leading edge DJ/Production collaborative comprised of Madrid and Sadie Woods. The best way to describe our sound simply: punk funk electro disco Brazilian Latin jazz fusion soul dub tech house or anything else we feel like playing at the moment.

Projects include collaborations with contemporary artists, performers and cultural tastemakers hosting exhibitions, curating events and providing music programming through national and international venues.


Sadie Woods

With a background in performance and fine arts, Sadie has worked and partnered with local independent businesses and institutions on events, such as: Around the Coyote, Fluxcore Online Magazine, Fusion Dance, Garfield Park Conservatory Alliance, Marwen, Rock for Kids, Shrinkboutique.com, The Silver Room and Translucent Chocolates. She recently completed the International Curatorial Training Program at Ecole Du Magasin in Grenoble, France, as co-editor for the publication "Harald Szeemann. Individual Methodology." and co-organizer for curatorial project "Everybody Wants to Rule the World".

Sadie has performed at Armani Exchange, Around the Coyote, Chicago Theater, Columbia College, Island Records, Magasin-CNAC Grenoble, Mark XIII Grenoble, Museum of Contemporary Art, Sotheby's Auction House, Sound Bar, University of Illinois at Chicago, Victor Hotel, the Virgin Megastore and VerveLife while curating and participating in select exhibitions and events. Current residencies include Debonair Social Club and Rodan in Chicago.






DJ Madrid

Post-modernist selector fusing punk funk electro disco afro brazil Asian world jazz hop soul grooves. Skillfully combining disparate elements and manipulating them into a harmonious composition is essential to Madrid's aesthetic.

Madrid has played and held residencies at the Art Institute of Chicago, the Field Museum, Mark XIII Grenoble, the Merchandise Mart, the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Museum of Science and Industry, Sanz Sans Paris, Soul Cafe Buenos Aires, Sotheby's Auction House, Sushi Samba Rio, the W Hotel and held a six year residency as In-Store DJ for Virgin Radio at the Virgin Megastore Chicago.

With a list of successful gigs as diverse as his sets, Madrid has spun across north and south America and Europe alongside such notables as Antibalas, Juan Atkins, the Brazilian Girls, King Britt, Derrick Carter, DJ Cam, Green Velvet, Gotan Project, the Hacker, Jazzanova, Osunlade, Larry Tee and Ron Trent and has premiered for events for Akira, Jaguar, Louis Vuitton and Vogue Magazine. Current residencies include De la Costa Restaurant Lounge, Nacional 27 Restaurant, Debonair Social Club, Puma Store and Rodan in Chicago.
